Local Courses –

Wallasey - (2 miles) “The Diamond of the Dunes” because of its superb location overlooking the Irish Sea.  A challenging course, deserving of its special place in golf history.  Dr Frank Stableford first developed the stableford system of scoring on this course.  As a resident at Leasowe Castle you can benefit from a 10% discounted rate for Green Fees per person on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Royal Liverpool - Just 5 miles from the Hotel.  Host of the 2006 Open.  Stunning Championship links course with fabulous views over the bay.  From the opening hole, which demands a good accurate drive with out of bounds down the right and the club house on the left, the course rewards good shots.  Many pot bunkers undulating fairways and large fast greens make this a must play golf course.

Heswall - Lovely picturesque golf course with views over the Welsh Hills.  Has a more of a parkland feel to the course even though it is set on the estuary of the Dee.  The course is approximately 10 miles from the hotel.  Very good value green fees and certainly worth putting in your tour of courses when staying in the area.
 
Caldy - The course is 10 miles from the hotel and its first 9 holes are along the Dee estuary. The back 9 holes come inland but still provide a very good test and are no less enjoyable.  The third hole is their signature hole.  From an elevated tee the  hole doglegs right.  Care must be taken to avoid the carefully placed bunkers that will catch the brave attempting to cut the corner.  The approach is frequently into the prevailing wind onto an infinity looking green.
 
Leasowe - Right next to the hotel.  The second fairway goes directly past the hotel function room.  Lovely links course which is slighty less demanding than the big links courses around the rest of the area.  The green fees here are again very good value and the course often gives special rates for hotel guests to enjoy the golf course next door.

Royal Birkdale - The most famous of the big Southport courses.  Home of many Open Championships.  The courses in the Southport area are only 40 minutes away and include Hillside, Southport, Ainsdale, Formby and several other excellent courses.
 
Just a little further North are the courses on the  Flyde  C oast which of course include the links of St Annes in Lytham.
